The referee ignored Yozgat SK's protests and gave Şenol Şafakgün a yellow card for diving instead. Müslüm İkram fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ekrem Yağın having to interfere. Mehmet Arif Özgener sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Şenol Şafakgün received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Hıncal İrfanoğlu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mehmet Arif Özgener could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Hıncal İrfanoğlu made a huge save. After having played for 35 minutes, Doğa Tefhim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Yozgat SK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Doğa Tefhim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hıncal İrfanoğlu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Selahaddin Subahi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ekrem Yağın read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Doğa Tefhim charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Doğa Tefhim the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Doğa Tefhim hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Cihangir JK's zone, Doğa Tefhim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hıncal İrfanoğlu came out of the goal and Doğa Tefhim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 92nd minute, Mehmet Arif Özgener got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 94 minutes into the match, Cihangir JK's goal looked a bit too open when Mehmet Arif Özgener came free, but Hıncal İrfanoğlu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Yozgat SK players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
