The audience thought a goal was coming when Mehmet Arif Özgener got free with Tuna Kutertan in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 14 minutes, Atıf Terzioğlu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yozgat SK and the Malatyaspor players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Bedir Bozbora had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Mehmet Arif Özgener managed to get in a good position for a shot. Yozgat SK's supporters rose to their feet, but Mehmet Arif Özgener was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tuna Kutertan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

In the 51st minute, Bedir Bozbora ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ekrem Yağın was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. After having played for 56 minutes, Mehmet Arif Özgener managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ekrem Yağın was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Bedir Bozbora sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match was over Malatyaspor could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Yozgat SK throughout the match.
