After 3 played minutes Angola got a freekick which was hit by Cláudio Pegacho. Fábio Quilempan took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Petruț Dicu. Petruț Dicu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Brujas KV's Petruț Dicu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Brujas KV from getting a goal against them. Angola were awarded a corner in the 17th minute after Brujas KV's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Miguel Cunha took the corner. Miguel Cunha made a great header on Angola's corner, it was just that Brujas KV's Petruț Dicu managed to reach the ball for a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ilkay Gündoğan in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lourenço Polido prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 21 minutes into the match, Torrey Molloy notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Angola's Lourenço Polido. Lourenço Polido was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 25th minute Codruț Domuță shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lourenço Polido saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, Renato Portalupi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lourenço Polido. Angola's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Renato Portalupi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Lourenço Polido took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Renato Portalupi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Brujas KV's Ilkay Gündoğan got a free kick in the 30th minute. Petruț Dicu was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Cláudio Pegacho. In the 33rd minute Angola were awarded a corner. Miguel Cunha went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Angola's Miguel Cunha to fire away a dangerous shot which Petruț Dicu despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Lourenço Polido made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Renato Portalupi in the 35th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Torrey Molloy in the 37th minute of play forced Angola's goalkeeper Lourenço Polido to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 41 minutes into the match, Angola's goal looked a bit too open when Renato Portalupi came free, but Lourenço Polido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Renato Portalupi in the 43rd minute of play forced Angola's goalkeeper Lourenço Polido to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With 47 minutes on the clock, Nito Montoia commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 46 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Angola! After the first half Brujas KV were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Brujas KV's goalkeeper Petruț Dicu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 60th minute of the match, Conrado Romero tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Lourenço Polido saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgardo Rozarius in the 61st minute of play forced Angola's goalkeeper Lourenço Polido to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lourenço Polido showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Conrado Romero, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. With a little luck, Angola's Lourenço Polido got control of the ball when Renato Portalupi tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 66th minute of the match, Codruț Domuță got a very nice opportunity to score, but Lourenço Polido was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Lourenço Polido made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martin Mundo in the 69th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Brujas KV's Conrado Romero slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Lourenço Polido. That made the score 1-3 after 71 minutes of play. Angola's Lourenço Polido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Conrado Romero in the 77th minute of play. With a little luck, Angola's Lourenço Polido got control of the ball when Renato Portalupi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Angola's Edmundo Fontão was substituted for Custódio Lima Clemente. Brujas KV were awarded a corner in the 85th minute after Angola's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Renato Portalupi took the corner. Renato Portalupi made a great header on Brujas KV's corner, it was just that Angola's Lourenço Polido managed to reach the ball for a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Renato Portalupi got free with Lourenço Polido in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 96th minute, Renato Portalupi sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Angola's Lourenço Polido didn't even have to move. The Angola supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Brujas KV's performance. The match ended with a win for Brujas KV.
