Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 14 minutes into the match, Breno Vergílio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Renan Melo. A.A. Francana's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Breno Vergílio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Renan Melo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lei Feng Yan's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. Renan Melo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geovani Medeiros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 22 minutes into the match, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goal looked a bit too open when Roman Koenig came free, but Aurelio Walme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When S.E.R. In the 32nd minute, Geovani Medeiros made a precise shot to the right of Renan Melo. A.A. Francana's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Renato Augusto hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Geovani Medeiros made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elliott Bergsten in the 53rd minute of play forced S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goalkeeper Aurelio Walme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Breno Vergílio in the 54th minute of play forced A.A. Francana's goalkeeper Renan Melo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joel Campos hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Lei Feng Yan went to the cornerflag to take it. After a defensive mix-up in A.A. Francana's zone, Renato Augusto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Renan Melo came out of the goal and Renato Augusto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Geovani Medeiros got free with Renan Melo in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Geovani Medeiros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Renan Melo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. Aurelio Walme came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by A.A. Francana's Charlie Boström. But to his dismay, Charlie Boström quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. 89 minutes into the match, A.A. Francana's goalkeeper Renan Melo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lei Feng Yan. In the 90th minute of the match S.E.R. Caxias do Sul got a corner. A.A. Francana's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Lei Feng Yan ran over to the corner to take the kick. When Geovani Medeiros came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the S.E.R. Caxias do Sul fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geovani Medeiros couldn't finish the play. In the 97th minute, Breno Vergílio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Renan Melo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3.
