But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jardel Velloso couldn't finish the play. Jonathan Errapel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leandro Fonseca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th minute, Jardel Velloso ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Errapel was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rodolfo Cordeiro to strike the kick off in the second half. 50 minutes into the match, Bene Animatus's goal looked a bit too open when Rodolfo Cordeiro came free, but Juvenal Talló reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Herminio Birila in the 52nd minute of play forced Bene Animatus's goalkeeper Juvenal Talló to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jardel Velloso in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Errapel saved Santa Maradona from getting behind. In the 60th minute Bene Animatus were awarded a corner. Gao Jian Jie went to the cornerflag to take it. Rodolfo Cordeiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Juvenal Talló read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. Santa Maradona were awarded a corner in the 63th minute after Bene Animatus's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Haroldo Martxot took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Bene Animatus's goalie and right to Hakkı Kenan Ushan. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Bene Animatus's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Jonathan Errapel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jardel Velloso's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. Hakkı Kenan Ushan kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Jardel Velloso in the 72ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jonathan Errapel, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Jonathan Errapel made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Leandro Fonseca sent off a good shot on target. Jonathan Errapel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simon Hooker in the 77th minute of play. Santa Maradona's Jonathan Errapel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jardel Velloso in the 79th minute of play. With his leg Jonathan Errapel managed to avoid a goal in the 83rdth minute, when Bene Animatus's Jardel Velloso fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 84th minute, Rodolfo Cordeiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Santa Maradona fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. When Bene Animatus's Jardel Velloso in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Ratan Ayala hit a great ball. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
