Jayanquillo's Helder Bachicabo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Len Springer in the 7th minute of play. Bernardo Sarratea could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Benito Lind made a huge save. Bernardo Sarratea's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benito Lind read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kyle Whitmore in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Helder Bachicabo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Paulo Labrada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Jayanquillo's Gonsalvo Sanchez got a free kick in the 27th minute. Bernardo Sarratea's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Benito Lind firmly grabbed it by the left post. Len Springer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Helder Bachicabo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Len Springer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Helder Bachicabo having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, Gonsalvo Sanchez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 43rd match minute, Grosse Pointe Farms was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kyle Whitmore to maneuver through the defense. Len Springer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Helder Bachicabo having to interfere. 47 minutes into the match, Len Springer notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Jayanquillo's Helder Bachicabo. Helder Bachicabo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Len Springer was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute of the match Grosse Pointe Farms got a corner. Jayanquillo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Len Springer ran over to the corner to take the kick. Deon Shelton hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Len Springer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Helder Bachicabo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Benito Lind took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gonsalvo Sanchez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Through an outstanding action, after 64 minutes, Helder Bachicabo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Bernardo Sarratea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Jayanquillo's zone, Len Springer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Helder Bachicabo came out of the goal and Len Springer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 69 minutes into the match, Len Springer dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Helder Bachicabo, 0-4. 77 minutes into the match, Grosse Pointe Farms's goal looked a bit too open when Claris Santayana came free, but Benito Lind reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Len Springer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Helder Bachicabo having to interfere. After having played for 83 minutes, Jesse Shepherd managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grosse Pointe Farms's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jesse Shepherd was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Grosse Pointe Farms's Len Springer in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After 86 played minutes Jayanquillo got a freekick which was hit by Gonsalvo Sanchez. 88 minutes into the match, Grosse Pointe Farms's Len Springer sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Helder Bachicabo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Grosse Pointe Farms's Leon Kaplan was substituted for Louie Lefler. Bernardo Sarratea's late challenge caught a Grosse Pointe Farms's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bernardo Sarratea helped the player get up and apologised. In the 96th match minute, Jayanquillo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardo Sarratea to maneuver through the defense. When Cedric Ledbetter fell near the penalty area in the 97th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Grosse Pointe Farms's protests and gave Cedric Ledbetter a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Grosse Pointe Farms's Cedric Ledbetter got a free kick in the 97th minute. Grosse Pointe Farms played a much better game than Jayanquillo and deserved their victory. The Jayanquillo players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
