In the 5th minute Galen Kvick shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cecilio Jax saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dudu Magalhãess short, quick shot in the 10thth minute got Cecilio Jax to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Cecilio Jax made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robustiano Clementi in the 20th minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, San Martin de Tucuman's goal looked a bit too open when Robustiano Clementi came free, but Cecilio Jax reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute, Carmelo Osoitz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ronaldo de Moraes was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Ronaldo de Moraes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulino Lamberto in the 28th minute of the match. The supporters of Vista Alegre FC booed when San Martin de Tucuman was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luciano Selmo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ronaldo de Moraes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulino Lamberto in the 42nd minute of the match. In the 44th minute, Bartolo Harkaitz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Dudu Magalhães made the kick off in the second half. Cecilio Jax made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robustiano Clementi in the 57th minute of play. Robustiano Clementi might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cecilio Jax. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Robustiano Clementi ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Dudu Magalhães managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vista Alegre FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dudu Magalhães was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cecilio Jax breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vista Alegre FC's Norberto de Azevedo was substituted for Dudu Magalhães. A collision led to Vista Alegre FC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Marco Soares hit a great ball. With a little luck, Vista Alegre FC's Ronaldo de Moraes got control of the ball when Marcial Munio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Vista Alegre FC's Elias Proença was substituted for Jordy Hoes. An unexpectedly hard shot by Norberto de Azevedo in the 77th minute of play forced San Martin de Tucuman's goalkeeper Cecilio Jax to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulino Lamberto in the 79th minute of play forced Vista Alegre FC's goalkeeper Ronaldo de Moraes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Robustiano Clementi scored 1-1 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cecilio Jax, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When San Martin de Tucuman's Marcial Munio in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The San Martin de Tucuman players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
