Roberto Abbondanzieri came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Atletico Calamar Saavedra's Jeronimo Birila. But to his dismay, Jeronimo Birila quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Roberto Abbondanzieri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Serginho Silva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th minute Tito Ramírez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bonifacio Naldo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Atletico Calamar Saavedra's goalkeeper Bonifacio Naldo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 19th minute Venezia FC were awarded a corner. Thibau Van Mellaert went to the cornerflag to take it. 21 minutes into the match, Atletico Calamar Saavedra's goal looked a bit too open when Tito Ramírez came free, but Bonifacio Naldo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roberto Abbondanzieri was left in no man's land by his defense there! Tito Ramírez's late challenge caught a Atletico Calamar Saavedra's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tito Ramírez helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Venezia FC booed when Atletico Calamar Saavedra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serginho Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Venezia FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Atletico Calamar Saavedra.
