In the 3rd minute Göksel Taşdan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Forsyth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Puianello FC booed when CD Municipal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mosen Colillas didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 15 minutes of play, CD Municipal's Enrique Cassaretto made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Darrel Pennington was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 21 played minutes Puianello FC got a freekick which was hit by Fortunato Boldrini. Darrel Pennington took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enrique Cassaretto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. CD Municipal were awarded a corner in the 27th minute after Puianello FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Aureliano Buendia took the corner. Enrique Cassaretto took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Darrel Pennington. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Enrique Cassaretto was the one to do the kick off. The CD Municipal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. In the 87th minute, Angelo Esposito got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Enrique Cassaretto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Darrel Pennington read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Puianello FC's goalkeeper Darrel Pennington, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. CD Municipal had won after a very even match.
