DIF LEEDS BK's Brazilio Butt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bennvar Post in the 18th minute of play. In the 19th match minute, DIF LEEDS BK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lars Gudmundsson to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bennvar Post in the 21st minute of play forced DIF LEEDS BK's goalkeeper Brazilio Butt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Bennvar Post had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bennvar Post in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Brazilio Butt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 26th minute National Team Cape-Verde were awarded a corner. Fredric Melander went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Fredric Melander almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but DIF LEEDS BK's Brazilio Butt did a great save. In the 35th minute, Lars Gudmundsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 37th minute of the match Fredric Melander sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Brazilio Butt skillfully saved the ball. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind DIF LEEDS BK's goalkeeper Brazilio Butt, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bennvar Post sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. National Team Cape-Verde's Pål Sefastsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save National Team Cape-Verde from getting a goal against them. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. National Team Cape-Verde's Anton Vibjörnsson quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Carlos Alberto Tevez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Brazilio Butt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. DIF LEEDS BK's Pál Kormos was substituted for Henric Persson. If Carlos Alberto Tevez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brazilio Butt didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Carlos Alberto Tevez went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Carlos Alberto Tevez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pål Sefastsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pál Kormos in the 95th minute of the match. Pål Sefastsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pál Kormos, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. In the 97th minute Pál Kormos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pål Sefastsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After taking down the ball on DIF LEEDS BK's corner Eduardo Selmo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Pål Sefastsson quite easily take care of the ball. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
