The coaching staff of Saga TF protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Leszek Milko had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 45th minute of the game. One of Saga TF:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Hammarby IF:s goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Celedonio Dominguez to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Saga TF's goal looked a bit too open when Gösta Söderberg came free, but Joachim Forseth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
