The audience thought a goal was coming when Chen Ao Fan got free with Linus Ahlquist in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by Svartvallstjärnens IF's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Kevin Keegan was slow to take the kick. During this time Skövde AIK's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Kevin Keegan got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Linus Ahlquist quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 41st minute, Göran Cane left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Svartvallstjärnens IF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Villiam Marklund recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 46 played minutes Skövde AIK got a freekick which was hit by Vidar Fransson. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

Göran Cane fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olov Wahlnäs having to interfere. In the 70th minute Chen Ao Fan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Linus Ahlquist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 79th minute of the match Kevin Keegan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Linus Ahlquist skillfully saved the ball. In the 94th minute, Ture Nordmark hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the final whistle sounded Svartvallstjärnens IF left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Skövde AIK.
