Fred Allbom took the ball and in the 6 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joachim Forseth. Joachim Forseth dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 12th minute, Bosse Tuborg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tommy Asklöv could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Joachim Forseth made a huge save. 16 minutes into the match, Saga TF's goal looked a bit too open when Argyris Papapetrou came free, but Joachim Forseth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th match minute, Saga TF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Trond Gilde to maneuver through the defense. Saga TF's Joachim Forseth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Argyris Papapetrou in the 22nd minute of play. After 27 minutes, Arne Botnen made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Strömsbro IF's Rıza Vuralhan tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Saga TF booed when Strömsbro IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hamid Dame didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

Joachim Forseth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joachim Forseth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tommy Asklöv, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Rıza Vuralhan came out and tried to block the shot, but Erik Cantona slotted it home off the left post making it 3-3 in the 84th minute. After 91 played minutes Strömsbro IF got a freekick which was hit by Karl-Michael Kristiansson. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
