After a defensive mix-up in National Team Cape-Verde's zone, Kaj Hård stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pål Sefastsson came out of the goal and Kaj Hård tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 22 played minutes National Team Cape-Verde got a freekick which was hit by Tymoteusz Watarz. Lars Norberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bennvar Post in the 27th minute of play. Pål Sefastsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Atakan Pepe in the 28th minute of the match. Bennvar Post scored 2-1 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lars Norberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Bennvar Post had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 38th minute, Bennvar Post ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lars Norberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bennvar Post in the 40th minute of play forced spikarna's goalkeeper Lars Norberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kaj Hårds short, quick shot in the 43rdth minute got Pål Sefastsson to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Lars Norberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fredric Melander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 47 minutes into the match, National Team Cape-Verde's goal looked a bit too open when Sven Nordkvist came free, but Pål Sefastsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

National Team Cape-Verde's Carlos Alberto Tevez was substituted for Bennvar Post. The wind increased when Carlos Alberto Tevez made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven Nordkvist in the 53rd minute of play forced National Team Cape-Verde's goalkeeper Pål Sefastsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Carlos Alberto Tevez kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lars Norberg. That made the score 2-3 in the 54 minute of play. In the 59th minute, Carlos Alberto Tevez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 65th match minute, National Team Cape-Verde was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fredric Melander to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, National Team Cape-Verde's Fredric Melander got a free kick in the 67th minute. If Kaj Hård had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. It was Klas Bergqvist who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Klas Bergqvist got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Lars Norberg quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 88th match minute, National Team Cape-Verde was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anton Vibjörnsson to maneuver through the defense. 90 minutes into the match, spikarna's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Alberto Tevez came free, but Lars Norberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to spikarna getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Witomir Ziomkowski hit a great ball. Through an outstanding action, after 93 minutes, Lars Norberg successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 95th minute Sven Nordkvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pål Sefastsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 96th match minute, National Team Cape-Verde was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leon Fasgar to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched National Team Cape-Verde eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
