The audience was convinced that Tato Vega's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valdir Pérez was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. In the 10th minute Que se abra o mar were awarded a corner. Lando Norin went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Que se abra o mar's Ivar Eriksson to a score. 1-0 in the 10th minute. After a rather tough play, Que se abra o mar's Noel Perez got a free kick in the 13th minute. When União Verde FC's Gilvan Pombal in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A nice corner shot did that Válbson Marques got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Sandro Tepedino quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. União Verde FC's Valdir Pérez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save União Verde FC from getting a goal against them. When Que se abra o mar's Tato Vega in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye União Verde FC's goalie prevented a goal. Tato Vega in the 22ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Valdir Pérez, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 23rdth minute of the game Tato Vega who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but União Verde FC's Valdir Pérez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 24 minutes into the game, Tato Vega recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Valdir Pérez. Tato Vega showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Valdir Pérez had great luck who in the 28thth minute grab hold of the ball when Tato Vega from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Tato Vega might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Valdir Pérez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tato Vega ran back to his position shaking his head. The Que se abra o mar fans' excitement grew in the 32nd match minute when Que se abra o mar's Tato Vega looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 36 minutes into the match, Tato Vega had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Valdir Pérez. União Verde FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tato Vega was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Valdir Pérez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tato Vega in the 42nd minute of play. After having played for 43 minutes, Lando Norin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Que se abra o mar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lando Norin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind União Verde FC's goalkeeper Valdir Pérez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, União Verde FC's Vinícius Lago got a free kick in the 47th minute. After 47 played minutes, Que se abra o mar's Lando Norin shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Valdir Pérez came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Que se abra o mar reached it. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

When the match had gone on for 58 minutes, Tato Vega put it in 5-0 from a short distance just to the right of Valdir Pérez. Valdir Pérez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tato Vega went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. Tommy Van Elsen kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. When Lando Norin came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Que se abra o mar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lando Norin couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tato Vega in the 68th minute of play forced União Verde FC's goalkeeper Valdir Pérez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tato Vega in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valdir Pérez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Que se abra o mar were awarded a corner in the 74th minute after União Verde FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Lando Norin took the corner. But to his dismay, Tato Vega quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. Que se abra o mar made a substitution. Tomas Lewandowski replaced Tato Vega. Valdir Pérez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tomas Lewandowski went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 8-0 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in União Verde FC's zone, Tomas Lewandowski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valdir Pérez came out of the goal and Tomas Lewandowski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 92nd minute, Tomas Lewandowski ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Valdir Pérez was frozen by the shot and now it was 9-0. After 96 minutes of play, Que se abra o mar's Tomas Lewandowski made it 10-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Valdir Pérez was left in no man's land by his defense there! Que se abra o mar walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
