A collision led to Rapid Wien getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Albert Kraft hit a great ball. In the 15th minute Daniel Hagedorn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard Lentini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Matt Sciortino fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Floriana Celtics's protests and gave Matt Sciortino a yellow card for diving instead. In the 16th match minute, Floriana Celtics was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matt Sciortino to maneuver through the defense. Alf Tempel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kyle Thake in the 22nd minute of the match. After 23 minutes Rapid Wien's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Godwin Montesin who took care of the corner kick. Richard Lentini stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Hagedorn's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. In the 35th match minute, Floriana Celtics was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olgierd Dawiec to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Floriana Celtics's Richard Lentini got control of the ball when Fausto Montel tried to sneak it across the goal line. Daniel Hagedorn scored 2-0 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Richard Lentini, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

In the 52nd match minute, Floriana Celtics was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giorgio Caruana to maneuver through the defense. In the 54th minute Fausto Montel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard Lentini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Floriana Celtics defense, Daniel Hagedorn kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Richard Lentini. The Floriana Celtics fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Richard Lentini should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Hagedorn in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Richard Lentini prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 72nd minute Daniel Hagedorn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard Lentini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 72 minutes of play, Rapid Wien's Daniel Hagedorn made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Richard Lentini was left in no man's land by his defense there! Daniel Hagedorn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Richard Lentini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rapid Wien made a substitution. Sergio Skoczylas replaced Daniel Hagedorn. Shi Yuan Qi hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Olgierd Dawiec could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Alf Tempel made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Rapid Wien's Shi Yuan Qi got a free kick in the 96th minute.
