In the 12thth minute of the game Deilmison van Basten who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atlético Capixaba's Murilo da Fonseca was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 13th minute, Otto Fesik made a precise shot to the right of Rodriguinho Sousa. ATHLETICO PRaiano's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 22nd minute, Gaétan Govou hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Atlético Capixaba booed when ATHLETICO PRaiano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaétan Govou didn't get a good kick on the ball. ATHLETICO PRaiano's Rodriguinho Sousa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Otto Fesik in the 40th minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Otto Fesik made a precise shot to the right of Rodriguinho Sousa. ATHLETICO PRaiano's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. 46 minutes into the match, Otto Fesik notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of ATHLETICO PRaiano's Rodriguinho Sousa. Rodriguinho Sousa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

Murilo da Fonseca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Deilmison van Basten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Deilmison van Basten in the 57th minute of play forced Atlético Capixaba's goalkeeper Murilo da Fonseca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Murilo da Fonseca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Deilmison van Basten in the 58th minute of play. After 93 played minutes ATHLETICO PRaiano got a freekick which was hit by Gaétan Govou. The Atlético Capixaba fans' excitement grew in the 94th match minute when Atlético Capixaba's Otto Fesik looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The Atlético Capixaba supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Atlético Capixaba would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
