With a couple of smart ball manuevers Florentin Gougeon in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alf Ploughman saved FC Soldeu from getting behind. Yuan Wei Han fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alf Ploughman having to interfere. 21 minutes into the match, Florentin Gougeon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alf Ploughman. FC Soldeu's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Florentin Gougeon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Alf Ploughman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Florentin Gougeon in the 26th minute of the match. Jerry Lodge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gary Delaney in the 27th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, FC Soldeu's goal looked a bit too open when Todd Kidd came free, but Alf Ploughman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 31 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Florentin Gougeon sped through FC Soldeu's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Alf Ploughman. In the 34th match minute, FC Soldeu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lance Armstrong to maneuver through the defense. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Damien Fowler was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Florentin Gougeon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Valencia C.F.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Florentin Gougeon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Florentin Gougeon kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alf Ploughman. That made the score 0-7 in the 65 minute of play. Valencia C.F.'s Florentin Gougeon got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Soldeu's goalkeeper Alf Ploughman, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 86 minutes into the game, Miles Rowett threw the ball into play from the sideline. Valencia C.F.'s Ricardo Arias quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 87th minute of the match, Florentin Gougeon tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Alf Ploughman saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 88th minute Valencia C.F. were awarded a corner. Ryan Plumber went to the cornerflag to take it. Jerry Lodge showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Darren Blewitt, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Valencia C.F.'s attentive Oliver Bean managed to snatch the ball when Miles Rowett made a throw-in in the 93rd minute of the game. When the match clock showed 95 minutes, the score became 0-10 when Florentin Gougeon sped through FC Soldeu's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Alf Ploughman. When the match was over Valencia C.F. could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FC Soldeu throughout the match.
