Through an outstanding action, after 4 minutes, Uriel Chorche successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Mo Yi Sang blasted a shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Uriel Chorche having to make a save. Uriel Chorche made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Mo Yi Sang sent off a good shot on target. In the 12th minute Bernard Ochabski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matias Carlomagno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Defensores del Ángel Gris's Uriel Chorche proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Defensores del Ángel Gris from getting a goal against them. San Lorenzo's attentive Doni Arce managed to snatch the ball when Bernard Ochabski made a throw-in in the 26th minute of the game. Mo Yi Sang could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Uriel Chorche made a huge save. Uriel Chorche took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mo Yi Sang, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alfonso Gilabert took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Matias Carlomagno. Matias Carlomagno dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 44 minutes into the match, San Lorenzo's goal looked a bit too open when Leopoldo Aimar came free, but Matias Carlomagno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Defensores del Ángel Gris were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 54 minutes, Mo Yi Sang mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the San Lorenzo and the Defensores del Ángel Gris players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to San Lorenzo getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Kara Melo hit a great ball. Eleuterio Chabier took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 64th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Matias Carlomagno. San Lorenzo's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Alfonso Gilabert managed to get in a good position for a shot. Defensores del Ángel Gris's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfonso Gilabert was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Matias Carlomagno breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. San Lorenzo made a substitution. Eric Dică replaced Martin Lleir. A sloppy throw-in by Alifonso Irureta in the 72nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by San Lorenzo's Doni Arce. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mo Yi Sang in the 75th minute of play forced Defensores del Ángel Gris's goalkeeper Uriel Chorche to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. San Lorenzo's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gigi Penaru in the 76th minute. The corner ended in Gigi Penaru almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Defensores del Ángel Gris's Uriel Chorche did a great save. In the 78th minute, Leopoldo Aimar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alfonso Gilabert kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Defensores del Ángel Gris had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
