Lorenzo Jerrold might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gianluca Buffon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lorenzo Jerrold ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 36th minute of the match San Lorenzo de Sarandi got a corner. Defensores de Lombroso's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ryszard Luty ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Ryszard Luty almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Defensores de Lombroso's Gianluca Buffon did a great save. Defensores de Lombroso's Gianluca Buffon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivan Errando in the 39th minute of play. The corner led San Lorenzo de Sarandi's Ryszard Luty to fire away a dangerous shot which Gianluca Buffon despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lorenzo Jerrold in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gianluca Buffon saved Defensores de Lombroso from getting behind. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bruno Sauveur to make the kick off. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched San Lorenzo de Sarandi eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
