Victoriano Bernaldo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isidoro Baristo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Guansa's Cornelio Asteri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Darryl Buckner in the 11th minute of play. Darryl Buckner received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Cornelio Asteri came out and tried to block the shot, but Darryl Buckner slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 20th minute. In the 25th minute of the match Dep Colonia Avellaneda got a corner. Guansa's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Serafino Ostots didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Darryl Buckner made a kick off. Dep Colonia Avellaneda's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
