That made the score 1-1 after 11 minutes of play. 1989 Blxsk's Eriberto Honesto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save 1989 Blxsk from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luke De Kelper during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Eriberto Honesto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Eriberto Honesto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnoldo Medina, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. A collision led to Palermo getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Anacleto Itzaina hit a great ball. Palermo's Alfredo Joey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Desiderio Ostargi in the 42nd minute of play. In the 45th minute, 1989 Blxsk's Marcos Ekhi seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Marcos Ekhi the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of 1989 Blxsk protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Marcos Ekhi had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 46th minute, Marcos Ekhi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Anthony Bonelli came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Palermo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anthony Bonelli couldn't finish the play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Santiago Mino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Santiago Mino scored 4-1 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eriberto Honesto, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Severino Furman kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alfredo Joey. That made the score 4-2 in the 60 minute of play. Eriberto Honesto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnoldo Medina, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Eriberto Honesto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santiago Mino in the 68th minute of play. Arnoldo Medina took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eriberto Honesto. Eriberto Honesto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-2. 1989 Blxsk made a substitution. Sokol Mudrov replaced Luke De Kelper. 1989 Blxsk made a substitution. Celestino Millano replaced Severino Furman. 1989 Blxsk made a substitution. Mick Snowdon replaced Juan Urti. Eriberto Honesto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anthony Bonelli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Anthony Bonelli managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palermo's supporters rose to their feet, but Anthony Bonelli was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eriberto Honesto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eriberto Honesto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnoldo Medina in the 86th minute of the match. Celestino Millanos short, quick shot in the 87thth minute got Alfredo Joey to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The audience was convinced that Celestino Millano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alfredo Joey was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Palermo's Patryk Wiater got a free kick in the 88th minute. 1989 Blxsk were awarded a corner in the 93th minute after Palermo's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sokol Mudrov took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Miguel Godoy got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Alfredo Joey quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Alfredo Joey was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Celestino Millano showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 5-3 in the 95 minute of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Palermo had played much better football throughout.
