Patagonia's Peter Schmeichel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan-Erik Telin in the 16th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dariusz Wos in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mito Troyanov saved Sänningstjärns BK from getting behind. In the 21st minute of the match A.C. Patagonia got a corner. Sänningstjärns BK's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mito Troyanov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcin Cebula, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 47th minute, Dariusz Wos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The A.C. Patagonia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dariusz Wos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute of the match, Dariusz Wos tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Mito Troyanov saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 58 minutes into the match, A.C. Patagonia's goal looked a bit too open when Knut Olsson came free, but Peter Schmeichel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mito Troyanov came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by A.C. Patagonia's Aldo Di Carlo. But to his dismay, Aldo Di Carlo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nils-Åke Kinnman in the 71st minute of play forced A.C. Patagonia's goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peter Schmeichel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hans Benedict, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 76 minutes into the match, Aldo Di Carlo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mito Troyanov. Sänningstjärns BK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aldo Di Carlo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. After some careless play in the Sänningstjärns BK defense, Aldo Di Carlo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mito Troyanov. The Sänningstjärns BK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mito Troyanov should have stopped the shot. 82 minutes into the game, Amerigo Ianni threw the ball into play from the sideline. Sänningstjärns BK's Severo Dino quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Mito Troyanov was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Aldo Di Carlo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-7 in the 84 minute of play. In the 91st minute, Nils-Åke Kinnman made a precise shot to the right of Peter Schmeichel. A.C. Patagonia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-7. Sänningstjärns BK made a substitution. Andrei Shevchenko replaced Hans Benedict. A sloppy throw-in by Amerigo Ianni in the 96th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Sänningstjärns BK's Gitano Adán. 98 minutes into the match, Aldo Di Carlo notched a goal, 1-8, to the right of Sänningstjärns BK's Mito Troyanov. Mito Troyanov was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

The A.C. Patagonia supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing A.C. Patagonia would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
