The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Hermanö Oilers getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Hjalmar Askelöf hit a great ball. Hannover Reds's Lei Xiang Rong shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 5th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Oskar Haeger but with some difficulty. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leonardo Sundin in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hartmut Klein saved Hannover Reds from getting behind. 8 minutes into the match, Hannover Reds's goal looked a bit too open when Ingemar Stålman came free, but Hartmut Klein reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 9th minute Ingemar Stålman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hartmut Klein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Emilio Argina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Hermanö Oilers booed when Hannover Reds was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emilio Argina didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Hannover Reds's Emilio Argina slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Oskar Haeger. That made the score 1-0 after 23 minutes of play. Hermanö Oilers were awarded a corner in the 27th minute after Hannover Reds's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Harel Minsky took the corner. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dave Di Filippo in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hartmut Klein prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Emilio Argina blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Oskar Haeger having to make a save. After 46 played minutes Hermanö Oilers got a freekick which was hit by Dave Di Filippo. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emilio Argina to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Dave Di Filippo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hartmut Klein was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. A sloppy throw-in by Harry Forsman in the 66th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Hannover Reds's Wladimir Goetsch. Oskar Haeger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andaç Adahan, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Hannover Reds's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Lei Xiang Rong in the 69th minute. The corner ended in Lei Xiang Rong almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Hermanö Oilers's Oskar Haeger did a great save. Hermanö Oilers were awarded a corner in the 72th minute after Hannover Reds's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Harel Minsky took the corner. After taking down the ball on Hermanö Oilers's corner Harel Minsky fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Hartmut Klein quite easily take care of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Hannover Reds's zone, Dave Di Filippo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hartmut Klein came out of the goal and Dave Di Filippo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Hannover Reds's goalkeeper Hartmut Klein, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dave Di Filippo got free with Hartmut Klein in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 94 minutes into the match, Hermanö Oilers's goal looked a bit too open when Qiao Xing Qi came free, but Oskar Haeger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
