With a couple of smart ball manuevers Matias Bilintx in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Herminio Roderigo saved Trinchera FC from getting behind. Herminio Roderigo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matias Bilintx, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Herminio Roderigo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Venancio Emesto, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Venancio Emesto scored 0-1 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Herminio Roderigo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Herminio Roderigo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matias Bilintx in the 12th minute of play. Herminio Roderigo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Matias Bilintx's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Guido Gaizkine received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Óscar Cordoba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 16th minute of the match, Guido Gaizkine got a very nice opportunity to score, but Óscar Cordoba was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Óscar Cordoba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ryuji Laprise, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 21st minute, Eloy Dimas reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Óscar Cordoba. The goal made the score 1-1. Guido Gaizkine could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Óscar Cordoba made a huge save. Trinchera FC's Herminio Roderigo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matias Bilintx in the 38th minute of play. In the 39th minute Sporting de Gijón were awarded a corner. Saturnino Curcio went to the cornerflag to take it. Saturnino Curcio made a great header on Sporting de Gijón's corner, it was just that Trinchera FC's Herminio Roderigo managed to reach the ball for a save. After 44 played minutes Sporting de Gijón got a freekick which was hit by Venancio Emesto. 47 minutes into the match, Trinchera FC's goal looked a bit too open when Matias Bilintx came free, but Herminio Roderigo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 49 minutes had been played when some careless play by Trinchera FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Saturnino Curcio was slow to take the kick. During this time Sporting de Gijón's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Saturnino Curcio got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Herminio Roderigo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Guido Gaizkine made a kick off. Diego Maradona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Herminio Roderigo having to interfere. Matias Bilintx could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Herminio Roderigo made a huge save. Herminio Roderigo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Wayne Rooney showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 67 minute of play.
