Thiago Neves went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Jens-Ove Malm almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Sporting de Gijón's Óscar Cordoba did a great save. Amauri Félix made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diego Maradona in the 15th minute of play. 19 minutes into the game, Sporting de Gijón's Diego Maradona nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Amauri Félix made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Óscar Cordoba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jens-Ove Malm in the 38th minute of play. With a little luck, Sporting de Gijón's Óscar Cordoba got control of the ball when Jens-Ove Malm tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Rio Verde F.C CIMZ booed when Sporting de Gijón was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wayne Rooney didn't get a good kick on the ball. A very nice done corner allowed Jens-Ove Malm to score against Óscar Cordoba in Sporting de Gijón's goal. 3-2 after 87 minutes. After some careless play in the Sporting de Gijón defense, Jens-Ove Malm kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Óscar Cordoba. The Sporting de Gijón fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Óscar Cordoba should have stopped the shot. In the 95th minute of the match Sporting de Gijón got a corner. Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Saturnino Curcio ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Saturnino Curcio got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Amauri Félix quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Carolo Ovando in the 95thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Amauri Félix, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Rio Verde F.C CIMZ fans cheered their team off the field, for while Sporting de Gijón had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
