Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Diego Maradona was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Amauri Félix showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matias Bilintx in the 19th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Sporting de Gijón's Amauri Félix threw himself towards the right post 22 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Diego Maradona, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 24 minutes into the game, Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's Jens-Ove Malm nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Óscar Cordoba made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcos Siqueira in the 30th minute of play forced Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper Óscar Cordoba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th match minute, Sporting de Gijón was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Venancio Emesto to maneuver through the defense. 35 minutes into the game, Tolgahan Onatkan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jens-Ove Malm made a kick off. After 53 played minutes Sporting de Gijón got a freekick which was hit by Carlo Crema. 58 minutes into the match, Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Matias Bilintx came free, but Amauri Félix reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 60th minute Matias Bilintx shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amauri Félix saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Óscar Cordoba made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Jens-Ove Malm sent off a good shot on target. Saturnino Curcio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 70 minutes into the match, Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper Óscar Cordoba had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jens-Ove Malm. Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Thiago Neves in the 73rd minute. Sporting de Gijón made a substitution. In the 96th minute, Israel Vidal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Saturnino Curcio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Rio Verde F.C CIMZ players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
