Alfons Hurtig scored 1-4 in the 48th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Liang Zhang, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gaston Benino to make the kick off. Alfons Hurtig could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Liang Zhang made a huge save. Vladimiro Onofre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Prokopi Banchev in the 67th minute of play. In the 80th minute Prokopi Banchev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vladimiro Onofre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ernest Matthes replaced Gaston Benino. The audience was convinced that Carver Hunter's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vladimiro Onofre was relentless in the 91st minute of the game.
