Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Lesardo Alavedra got the match started through his kick off. Evander Zabel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ascencio Quintas in the 3rd minute of the match. Ascencio Quintas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 7th minute, Lesardo Alavedra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Deportivo Alavés defense, Ascencio Quintas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Evander Zabel. The Deportivo Alavés fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Evander Zabel should have stopped the shot. Ray De Lauw showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vincent Solera, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. With splendid footwork Vincent Solera arrived in front of goal to shoot 1-1 by the left pole in the game's 17th minute. In the 20th minute, Ascencio Quintas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Evander Zabel was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. After 26 minutes Vetusta's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Andrés Iniesta who took care of the corner kick. Evander Zabel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ascencio Quintas, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Vetusta's Ray De Lauw played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vincent Solera in the 31st minute of play. Evander Zabel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jose-Manuel Jauregui, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. With 39 minutes on the clock, Adalmo Saldanha commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 38th minute, one of Deportivo Alavés:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Deportivo Alavés. In the 40th minute there was a penalty for Vetusta. Ascencio Quintas stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Evander Zabel. 1-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ascencio Quintas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Chano Turienzo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lesardo Alavedra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 55th minute, Sergi Gómez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dorio Cacheres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ray De Lauw showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wiggo Wipp, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Ascencio Quintas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Evander Zabel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. Evander Zabel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jose-Manuel Jauregui, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 72 minutes of play, Vetusta's Ascencio Quintas made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Evander Zabel was left in no man's land by his defense there! Vetusta's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Andresito Sacristán in the 81st minute. The corner led Vetusta's Andresito Sacristán to fire away a dangerous shot which Evander Zabel despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 84th match minute, Vetusta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iosu Toxeiro to maneuver through the defense. Vetusta's Marco Palomar was substituted for Ascencio Quintas. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lesardo Alavedra in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ray De Lauw prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Deportivo Alavés's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Andrés Iniesta in the 96th minute. A nice corner shot did that Andrés Iniesta got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ray De Lauw quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The Deportivo Alavés supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Vetusta's performance. The match ended with a win for Vetusta.
