If Hélder Custódio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ricardo Wong didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bernd Goldsche went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. After having played for 16 minutes, Bernd Goldsche managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Academia Militar MZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bernd Goldsche was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 21 minutes into the match, Zamalek FC's goal looked a bit too open when Hélder Custódio came free, but Ricardo Wong reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bernd Goldsche sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 24th minute, Zamalek FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Bernd Goldsche fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Bernd Goldsche fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Wong having to interfere. After 42 played minutes Bernd Goldsche could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 3-0 into the left cross. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Malcolm Neal in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Diamantino Magalhães prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bernd Goldsche might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ricardo Wong. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bernd Goldsche ran back to his position shaking his head. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Malcolm Neal to make the kick off. Ricardo Wong showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hélder Custódio, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. After a rather tough play, Zamalek FC's Lloyd Warren got a free kick in the 57th minute. After some careless play in the Zamalek FC defense, Gilmar Torres kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricardo Wong. The Zamalek FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardo Wong should have stopped the shot. In the 64th minute, Gilmar Torres left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Academia Militar MZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. Bernd Goldsche sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gilbert Jordan kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Arí Pitta took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 71st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ricardo Wong. Zamalek FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 74th minute Bernd Goldsche shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Wong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jano Freire kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. In the 80th minute Malcolm Neal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diamantino Magalhães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zamalek FC's Ricardo Wong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilmar Torres in the 86th minute of play. The referee ignored Zamalek FC's protests and gave Santo Knox a yellow card for diving instead. After 92 played minutes Zamalek FC got a freekick which was hit by Santo Knox. 94 minutes into the match, Hélder Custódio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ricardo Wong. Zamalek FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hélder Custódio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 8-0. There was no doubt that Academia Militar MZ were the better team. Academia Militar MZ's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
