The audience thought a goal was coming when Gökberk Özgenc got free with Diamantino Magalhães in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 38th match minute, Academia Militar MZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilson Amaral to maneuver through the defense. Hélder Custódio's late challenge caught a Westra Aros SK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Roberto Baggio to make the kick off. Genílson França could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Ivan Västlund made a huge save. 56 minutes into the match, Academia Militar MZ's goal looked a bit too open when Ingo Kuster came free, but Diamantino Magalhães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hélder Custódio in the 92nd minute of play forced Westra Aros SK's goalkeeper Ivan Västlund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Jörn Hylander fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Westra Aros SK's protests and gave Jörn Hylander a yellow card for diving instead. After 92 played minutes Westra Aros SK got a freekick which was hit by Jörn Hylander. In the 95th match minute, Academia Militar MZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hélder Custódio to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 96 minutes, Ingo Kuster managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Westra Aros SK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ingo Kuster was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Academia Militar MZ walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
