Clem Fath dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. After having played for 44 minutes, Laércio Penha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Laércio Penha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Florian Lardenois hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Laércio Penha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clem Fath having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bogdan Bambas to strike the kick off in the second half. Clem Fath stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Laércio Penha's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. Cosa nostra Lyon's defense didn't have a chance, in the 62nd minute, when Laércio Penha scored to the left of an out of position Clem Fath, making the score, 0-6. In a very dangerous position, a player in Cosa nostra Lyon fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 65th minute. Penalty! In the 66th minute, Nova Iguaçu MZFC got a penalty, and Luiz Fábio de Medeiros placed the ball unsaveable into goal, by the right post. In the 72nd minute Bogdan Bambas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mickaël Maris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 77 minutes into the game, Laércio Penha cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-8. Clem Fath was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Thierry Platon during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 86th minute, Laércio Penha left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nova Iguaçu MZFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-9.
