With an all-out effort, Fighting Burning Hearts's Alf Tempel threw himself towards the right post 18 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tanek Daszkowski, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Fighting Burning Hearts's Enzo Grieco quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Alf Tempel made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Tanek Daszkowski sent off a good shot on target. Enzo Grieco kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Fausto Montel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fedele Bruno was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tanek Daszkowski in the 47th minute of play forced Rapid Wien's goalkeeper Alf Tempel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The crowd rose to their feet as Rapid Wien's Fausto Montel slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Fedele Bruno. That made the score 3-1 after 84 minutes of play. Fighting Burning Hearts's Murat Selim Nejat quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Julius Reuter, made in the 92nd minute of the game. Alf Tempel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eraldo Bozzo in the 93rd minute of play. Fighting Burning Hearts were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Rapid Wien for a fine match.
