FC Schwalbe's Reinhard de Jong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romeo Crețulescu in the 7th minute of play. In the 13th minute Humberto Hesp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nae Pavel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Humberto Hesp received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Nae Pavel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th minute, Narcis Silişteanu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 1. FC Schwalbe's Reinhard de Jong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horea Frumușanu in the 21st minute of play. Călin Pamfil might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Reinhard de Jong. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Călin Pamfil ran back to his position shaking his head. 35 minutes into the match, 1. FC Schwalbe's goal looked a bit too open when Călin Pamfil came free, but Reinhard de Jong reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Richard Roordink hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. In the 39th minute, Narcis Silişteanu made a precise shot to the right of Reinhard de Jong. 1. FC Schwalbe's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. With a little luck, U Craiova's Nae Pavel got control of the ball when Humberto Hesp tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in 1. FC Schwalbe's zone, Narcis Silişteanu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reinhard de Jong came out of the goal and Narcis Silişteanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

In the 51st minute, 1. FC Schwalbe's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Romeo Crețulescu fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 53rd minute, Humberto Hesp hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 54 minutes, Narcis Silişteanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U Craiova's supporters crossed their fingers, but Narcis Silişteanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, U Craiova's Constantin Buzea got a free kick in the 56th minute. Reinhard de Jong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Horea Frumușanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Xu Guang Jun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Reinhard de Jong made an important save on a dangerous shot by Horea Frumușanu in the 63rd minute. After 65 minutes 1. FC Schwalbe's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Dorin Cârstoiu who took care of the corner kick. Dorin Cârstoiu made a great header on U Craiova's corner, it was just that 1. FC Schwalbe's Reinhard de Jong managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 66th match minute, 1. FC Schwalbe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Humberto Hesp to maneuver through the defense. After 68 played minutes U Craiova got a freekick which was hit by Călin Pamfil. Romeo Crețulescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reinhard de Jong having to interfere. 1. FC Schwalbe made a substitution. Arne Bouwman replaced Humberto Hesp. Reinhard de Jong made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Horea Frumușanu sent off a good shot on target. Horea Frumușanu kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Reinhard de Jong was out of position in the 82 minute of play, and Călin Pamfil capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Călin Pamfil really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. Reinhard de Jong was a little too slow when Romeo Crețulescu got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 88th minute. The score was now 0-4. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind 1. FC Schwalbe's goalkeeper Reinhard de Jong, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Horea Frumușanus short, quick shot in the 95thth minute got Reinhard de Jong to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in.

The U Craiova players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
