Kraig Fred's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Syd Cullen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. Estudiantes de América were awarded a corner in the 23th minute after Real Death Ducks's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Szymon Pilitowski took the corner. The corner ended in Szymon Pilitowski almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Real Death Ducks's Syd Cullen did a great save. In the 25th minute, Kraig Fred made a precise shot to the right of Syd Cullen. Real Death Ducks's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. After 28 played minutes Real Death Ducks got a freekick which was hit by Wen Feng Shi. Estudiantes de América's Florencio Ermengol managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Basílio Travassos in the 35 minute of the game. Kraig Fred might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Syd Cullen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kraig Fred ran back to his position shaking his head. Syd Cullen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kraig Fred in the 41st minute of the match. If Cornelio Ruisko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Robin Hultstrand struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Marcos Ranolfo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Real Death Ducks. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Franklin de Queiroz to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Ive Volckaerts got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 59 minutes into the game, Ive Volckaerts cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Marcos Ranolfo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Estudiantes de América made a substitution. Traian Blăniță replaced Cornelio Ruisko. In the 68th minute Robin Hultstrand shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Ranolfo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 83rd minute, Franklin de Queiroz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcos Ranolfo was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-3. Syd Cullen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Concetto Trasatti in the 88th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robin Hultstrand in the 90th minute of play forced Estudiantes de América's goalkeeper Marcos Ranolfo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Syd Cullen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Concetto Trasatti in the 93rd minute of play.
