The audience thought a goal was coming when Emil Enegren got free with Mateusz Marchewka in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mateusz Marchewka showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emil Enegren, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. A collision led to Güzelel SK getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Theo Athanasiou hit a great ball. Mateusz Marchewka made an important save on a dangerous shot by Timmy Linberg in the 14th minute. Timmy Linberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mateusz Marchewka having to interfere. Mateusz Marchewka made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Timmy Linberg sent off a good shot on target. Emil Enegren might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mateusz Marchewka. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Emil Enegren ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emil Enegren in the 27th minute of play forced Güzelel SK's goalkeeper Mateusz Marchewka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 31 minutes into the game, Uluç Seciye was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Güzelel SK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC St. Pauli the free kick. Uluç Seciye hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. In the 36th minute, Theo Athanasiou hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Emil Enegren put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Mateusz Marchewka. In the 42nd minute of the game Uluç Seciye made a throw-in which Jairo Osoitz played forward. In the 45th minute, Zygmunt Polkoski made a precise shot to the right of Buach Byrne. FC St. Pauli's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Timmy Linberg to strike the kick off in the second half. Uluç Seciye hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. In the 61st minute Emil Enegren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mateusz Marchewka saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emil Enegren in the 69th minute of play forced Güzelel SK's goalkeeper Mateusz Marchewka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Emil Enegren in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mateusz Marchewka prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 86th minute Emil Enegren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mateusz Marchewka saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mateusz Marchewka showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emil Enegren, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. The throw-in from Uluç Seciye in the 95th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by FC St. Pauli's Örjan Dahlquist. Timmy Linberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Güzelel SK succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though FC St. Pauli had controlled the match.
