The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Edwin van der Sar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 11th minute of the match, Benjamin Mikolas got a very nice opportunity to score, but Edwin van der Sar was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Edwin van der Sar was out of position in the 11 minute of play, and Benjamin Mikolas capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Benjamin Mikolas really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Edwin van der Sar didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ladislao Erramu went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leukothoe Atsidakos in the 19th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Cornelio Villegas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 22 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mexico's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Piara Bue was slow to take the kick. During this time Ｕｎｉãｏ Ｓｐｏｒｔ Ｃｌｕｂｅ Ｐａｒｅｄｅｓ's players had a chance to rest. In the 28th minute Jerónimo Furtado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cornelio Villegas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ｕｎｉãｏ Ｓｐｏｒｔ Ｃｌｕｂｅ Ｐａｒｅｄｅｓ's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Ladislao Erramu 29 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 4-0. Cornelio Villegas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernardo lago, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cornelio Villegas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jerónimo Furtado in the 35th minute of the match. In the 40th minute Ladislao Erramu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edwin van der Sar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 41 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Leopoldo Gaxan came free, but Cornelio Villegas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leukothoe Atsidakos's late challenge caught a Mexico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leukothoe Atsidakos helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Mexico booed when Ｕｎｉãｏ Ｓｐｏｒｔ Ｃｌｕｂｅ Ｐａｒｅｄｅｓ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leukothoe Atsidakos didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 46th minute, Ladislao Erramu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

Joel Enekoitz didn't get a good kick on the ball. 53 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Cornelio Villegas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leopoldo Gaxan. With a little luck, Mexico's Cornelio Villegas got control of the ball when Xande Solitario tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 89th minute, Leonardo Tipi made a precise shot to the right of Edwin van der Sar. Ｕｎｉãｏ Ｓｐｏｒｔ Ｃｌｕｂｅ Ｐａｒｅｄｅｓ's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-1. With a little luck, Mexico's Cornelio Villegas got control of the ball when Xande Solitario tried to sneak it across the goal line. Edwin van der Sar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonardo Tipi, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The Mexico support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
