The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Roque Martxel the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Zuberbühler FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Roque Martxel had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The supporters of BVB 09 booed when Zuberbühler FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roque Martxel didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Apolo Abeitia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Filip Mirciulescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Apolo Abeitia, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. After the first half Zuberbühler FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sandu Bâru stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Apolo Abeitia came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Zuberbühler FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Apolo Abeitia couldn't finish the play. Marian Morovan charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marian Morovan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Zuberbühler FC booed when BVB 09 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marian Morovan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 64th minute, Mario Laurin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 77 minutes into the match, Zuberbühler FC's goal looked a bit too open when Iacob Martinescu came free, but Siro Dantel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
