When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

KKS Lech Poznań's Michal Pazura was substituted for Radowit Radziszewski. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ramón Wanchope to strike the kick off in the second half. Arlindo Aguiar kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Roch Brodzki didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luís Fábio Araújo went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Luís Fábio Araújo might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Roch Brodzki. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luís Fábio Araújo ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arlindo Aguiar in the 76th minute of play forced KKS Lech Poznań's goalkeeper Roch Brodzki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
