The audience thought a goal was coming when Ramón Wanchope got free with Mateo Llorienzo in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ramón Wanchopes short, quick shot in the 7thth minute got Mateo Llorienzo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 12 minutes Burukster's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Edelmiro Quintyn who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Everardo Nerio almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Burukster's Jeremias Ribeiro did a great save. Mateo Llorienzo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Bitxintxo in the 17th minute of the match. 23 minutes into the match, Merengue FC's Domingo Jago sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jeremias Ribeiro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 23 minutes into the game, Domingo Jago cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Jeremias Ribeiro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Burukster's Ramón Wanchope in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With a left leg Jeremias Ribeiro saved Burukster from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Ramón Wanchope's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mateo Llorienzo was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. The nice shot from Ramón Wanchope in the 37thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Mateo Llorienzo had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. 38 minutes had been played when some careless play by Merengue FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luís Fábio Araújo was slow to take the kick. During this time Burukster's players had a chance to rest. Burukster's Luís Fábio Araújo was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Mateo Llorienzo in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Mateo Llorienzo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Bitxintxo in the 44th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ramón Wanchope stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Maxi Nuñez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 56 minutes, Ramón Wanchope made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Merengue FC's Mateo Llorienzo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Mateo Llorienzo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ramón Wanchope, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 70th minute, Ramón Wanchope left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Burukster fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jorge Bitxintxo in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mateo Llorienzo saved Merengue FC from getting behind. The supporters of Merengue FC booed when Burukster was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Válbson Soeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, Merengue FC's Jeremias Ribeiro threw himself towards the right post 80 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Domingo Jago, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 82ndth minute of the game Domingo Jago who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Burukster's Jeremias Ribeiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 83rd minute Jorge Bitxintxo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mateo Llorienzo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mateo Llorienzo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Bitxintxo in the 86th minute of play. 91 minutes into the game, Ramón Wanchope was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Burukster's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Merengue FC the free kick. Ramón Wanchope kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Burukster were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Merengue FC for a fine match.
