Marian Văduvescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Octavian Basten in the 4th minute. August Hoffmanns made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augustin Nechifor in the 5th minute of play. Nicolae Barbu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but August Hoffmanns read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. With a little luck, FC Steaua Pildesti's Marian Văduvescu got control of the ball when Hugo Haupt tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, FC Steaua Pildesti's Constantin Deșliu got a free kick in the 12th minute. 15 minutes into the match, Rot-Weiss-Essen's goal looked a bit too open when Lucian Stere came free, but August Hoffmanns reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC Steaua Pildesti's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Constantin Deșliu in the 16th minute. A nice corner shot did that Constantin Deșliu got away a dangerous shot. Despite this August Hoffmanns quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 18th minute Augustin Nechifor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but August Hoffmanns saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maximilian Henning kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. After 22 minutes, Hugo Haupt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rot-Weiss-Essen and the FC Steaua Pildesti players grew even worse after the yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Augustin Nechifor in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck August Hoffmanns prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 25th minute Augustin Nechifor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but August Hoffmanns saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. August Hoffmanns made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucian Stere in the 26th minute of play. Marian Văduvescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anestis Kotsopoulos in the 30th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Augustin Nechifor's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but August Hoffmanns was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Augustin Nechifor in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck August Hoffmanns prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Augustin Nechifor came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the FC Steaua Pildesti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Augustin Nechifor couldn't finish the play. Nicolae Barbu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but August Hoffmanns read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, FC Steaua Pildesti's Zygmunt Dunajski got a free kick in the 43rd minute. If Hugo Haupt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Augustin Nechifor was the one to do the kick off. When FC Steaua Pildesti's Nicolae Barbu in the 51st minute got a chance for a shot 51st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalie prevented a goal. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalkeeper August Hoffmanns, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 55th minute Augustin Nechifor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but August Hoffmanns saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 56 played minutes Rot-Weiss-Essen got a freekick which was hit by Anestis Kotsopoulos. Mesut Özil's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marian Văduvescu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. With his leg August Hoffmanns managed to avoid a goal in the 63rdth minute, when FC Steaua Pildesti's Augustin Nechifor fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Marian Văduvescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Octavian Basten in the 64th minute of the match. Octavian Basten struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Marian Văduvescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rot-Weiss-Essen. After 68 played minutes Rot-Weiss-Essen got a freekick which was hit by Kryspin Banach. Hugo Haupt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Marian Văduvescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Hugo Haupt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rot-Weiss-Essen's supporters rose to their feet, but Hugo Haupt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marian Văduvescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. August Hoffmanns made an important save on a dangerous shot by Augustin Nechifor in the 74th minute. Augustin Nechifor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marian Văduvescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugo Haupt, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Lucian Stere received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. August Hoffmanns tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 90th minute, Octavian Basten left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rot-Weiss-Essen fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Rot-Weiss-Essen had won after a very even match.
