The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Janne Töpperwien received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Arif Oğuz Cantürk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. István Vida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arif Oğuz Cantürk having to interfere. In the 13th minute Janne Töpperwien shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arif Oğuz Cantürk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arif Oğuz Cantürk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Janne Töpperwien, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cássio Ramos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Franco Epifani in the 21st minute of play. 27 minutes into the game, Daniel Heinikangas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Arif Oğuz Cantürk was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Janne Töpperwien had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Janne Töpperwien blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arif Oğuz Cantürk having to make a save. The supporters of Karhulan Veikot booed when Burnley FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Freddy Falcon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Janne Töpperwien took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arif Oğuz Cantürk. Arif Oğuz Cantürk dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 44th minute, István Vida left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Karhulan Veikot fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3.

Burnley FC made a substitution. Cristoforo Capuozzi replaced Uğur Arıbaş. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adam Huchro was the one to do the kick off. Cássio Ramos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Franco Epifani in the 56th minute of play. Stamatis Kritikos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Janne Töpperwien blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arif Oğuz Cantürk having to make a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Janne Töpperwien in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arif Oğuz Cantürk saved Burnley FC from getting behind. Janne Töpperwien sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 71 minutes into the match, Burnley FC's goal looked a bit too open when Janne Töpperwien came free, but Arif Oğuz Cantürk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Karhulan Veikot defense, Alemdar Baykut kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cássio Ramos. The Karhulan Veikot fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cássio Ramos should have stopped the shot. In the 76th match minute, Burnley FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roch Hatman to maneuver through the defense. Janne Töpperwiens short, quick shot in the 83rdth minute got Arif Oğuz Cantürk to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Janne Töpperwien succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-4 in the 84th playminute. If Franco Epifani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th minute, Karhulan Veikot's Janne Töpperwien dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-6. Karhulan Veikot's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
