Ruperto Ignatius hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. 11 minutes into the match, Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Murillo do Valle came free, but Hansjörg Wastl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pedro Toledo during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Pedro Toledo hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. 22 minutes into the match, Marzagão's goalkeeper Mieszko Karanowski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Henrique Borges. Mieszko Karanowski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edu Carvalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Valdemar Tepedino took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mieszko Karanowski. Mieszko Karanowski dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. 39 minutes into the match, Marzagão's goal looked a bit too open when Edu Carvalho came free, but Mieszko Karanowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 41st minute, Marzagão's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Naldo Valladares fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Hansjörg Wastl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Domingos Santiago, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Edu Carvalho received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mieszko Karanowski came out and tried to block the shot, but Edu Carvalho slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 47th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edu Carvalho was the one to do the kick off. When Domingos Santiago came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Marzagão fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Domingos Santiago couldn't finish the play. In the 57th minute Edu Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mieszko Karanowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Murillo do Valle came free with the goalkeeper in the 58th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Hansjörg Wastl could save by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edu Carvalho in the 66th minute of play forced Marzagão's goalkeeper Mieszko Karanowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Marzagão's goalkeeper Mieszko Karanowski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ's Emiel Desmet was substituted for Valdemar Tepedino. Marzagão's Jânio Faria was substituted for Cezar Martins. A collision led to Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Pedro Geromel hit a great ball. 78 minutes into the match, Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Murillo do Valle came free, but Hansjörg Wastl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luís Fabiano Sena in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mieszko Karanowski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hansjörg Wastl made an important save on a dangerous shot by Domingos Santiago in the 82nd minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Domingos Santiago heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Mieszko Karanowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Fabiano Sena in the 85th minute of play. 86 minutes had been played when some careless play by Marzagão's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Naldo Valladares was slow to take the kick. During this time Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Naldo Valladares almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Marzagão's Mieszko Karanowski did a great save. In the 88th minute Edu Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mieszko Karanowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hansjörg Wastl stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Umberto Antunes's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. 97 minutes into the match, Marzagão's Murillo do Valle sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hansjörg Wastl narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luís Fabiano Sena's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mieszko Karanowski read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 99th minute of play. Marzagão's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
