In the 19th minute of the match Villa Gordiani got a corner. Flamengo FSCMZ's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ciro Esposito ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Villa Gordiani's corner Ciro Esposito fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Dmytro Novak quite easily take care of the ball. Dmytro Novak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rab Uba, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Dmytro Novak took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rab Uba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ramón Furtado might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Iker Casillas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ramón Furtado ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 25th minute Ramón Furtado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iker Casillas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Iker Casillas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ramón Furtado's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. 32 minutes into the match, Ramón Furtado notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Villa Gordiani's Iker Casillas. Iker Casillas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Ramón Furtado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Villa Gordiani's Iker Casillas got control of the ball when Stefan Banaszak tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stefan Banaszak got free with Iker Casillas in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Villa Gordiani's goalkeeper Iker Casillas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Ramón Furtado fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Flamengo FSCMZ's protests and gave Ramón Furtado a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Villa Gordiani booed when Flamengo FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramón Furtado didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

A sloppy throw-in by Otang Irawan in the 52nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Flamengo FSCMZ's Marcus de Godoi. Dmytro Novak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabrizio Canzano in the 56th minute of play. After some careless play in the Villa Gordiani defense, Ramón Furtado kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Iker Casillas. The Villa Gordiani fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Iker Casillas should have stopped the shot. Maurinho Meira hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. In the 68th minute, Ramón Furtado left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Flamengo FSCMZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Villa Gordiani's goalkeeper Iker Casillas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Villa Gordiani's Iker Casillas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramón Furtado in the 73rd minute of play. Despite this Iker Casillas quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Flamengo FSCMZ were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
