Reese Otto scored 0-2 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Thoyib Alatas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thoyib Alatas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chunche Montero, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. In the 41st minute of the match Zamalek FC got a corner. 19 Mayıs Belediyespor's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Chunche Montero ran over to the corner to take the kick. Zamalek FC's Chunche Montero was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Thoyib Alatas in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stoyko Mavrikov got free with Rhys Dimmock in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 45th match minute, Zamalek FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zack Grier to maneuver through the defense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
