An unexpectedly hard shot by Vedat Arslanoğlu in the 17th minute of play forced U21 Sweden's goalkeeper Fisnik Fart to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Douglas Linqvist replaced Gilbert Björklund. Jofurs Drängar's Jonas Kielberg was substituted for Zebastian Abelsson. Kristoffer Hedström made in the 78th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Phan Dung however managed to control. If Novak Djokovic had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The U21 Sweden supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing U21 Sweden would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
