In the 17th minute, Falo Camara ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Everett Orr was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Everett Orr showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernesto Salazar, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. When Archie Oneill fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Horrocks's protests and gave Archie Oneill a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Horrocks's Archie Oneill got a free kick in the 21st minute. In the 23rd match minute, Horrocks was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iggi Shorten to maneuver through the defense. Through an outstanding action, after 26 minutes, Montrel Figueres successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Raúl Sanz hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Montrel Figueres made an important save on a dangerous shot by Russell Pinhey in the 31st minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
