Rahan's Gerald McTom got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Trevor McAlphie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Trevor McAlphie put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Flannery McLiam. After having played for 15 minutes, Gerald McTom managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rahan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gerald McTom was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After having played for 18 minutes, Berkley Murphy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 25th minute, Blavock Molloy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Rahan's Ardán Dalton got control of the ball when Teigue Gallagher tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Torran McLian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Barclay Duggan was the one to do the kick off. 58 minutes into the match, Trevor McAlphie notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Hillside's Flannery McLiam. Flannery McLiam was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 61 minutes into the game, Trevor McAlphie cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Flannery McLiam was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Trevor McAlphie got free with Flannery McLiam in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Séamus McNamee fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flannery McLiam having to interfere. With his leg Flannery McLiam managed to avoid a goal in the 71stth minute, when Rahan's Trevor McAlphie fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Trevor McAlphies short, quick shot in the 73rdth minute got Flannery McLiam to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 77th minute, Trevor McAlphie left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rahan fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. After 80 minutes, Trevor McAlphie made it 0-6 with a short kick to the right side. Hillside's Flannery McLiam tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 93rd minute, Hillside's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Trevor McAlphie fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Casey Myler who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 94thth minute tested the skills of Flannery McLiam when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of Hillside booed when Rahan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Breanainn Rutherford didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rahan's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
