Bjarnleifur Hallbjörnsson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of Nestor Selatse when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Bjarnleifur Hallbjörnsson in the 32ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Nestor Selatse, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 34th minute of the match, Dalvin Ingjaldsson tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Nestor Selatse saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Dalvin Ingjaldsson was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 40th minute. Vernd Grindavík's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Nestor Selatse was a little too slow when Dalvin Ingjaldsson got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 43rd minute. The score was now 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bjarnleifur Hallbjörnsson to strike the kick off in the second half. Nestor Selatse stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dalvin Ingjaldsson's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. Dalvin Ingjaldsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nestor Selatse having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bjarnleifur Hallbjörnsson in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nestor Selatse saved Cuesta AFC from getting behind. Dagbjartur Loðmundsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Nestor Selatse tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 91st match minute, Cuesta AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernabe Lauaxeta to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Vernd Grindavík booed when Cuesta AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernabe Lauaxeta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vernd Grindavík walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
