In the 19thth minute of the game Bjarnleifur Hallbjörnsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Milltown's Christopher Stapleton was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 21 minutes into the match, Milltown's goal looked a bit too open when Dalvin Ingjaldsson came free, but Christopher Stapleton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Milltown's zone, Dalvin Ingjaldsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christopher Stapleton came out of the goal and Dalvin Ingjaldsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Christopher Stapleton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dagbjartur Loðmundsson in the 28th minute of play. Milltown's Christopher Stapleton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dalvin Ingjaldsson in the 29th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zachery Hutchison during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 33rd minute, Zachery Hutchison reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Össur Aðalmundsson. The goal made the score 1-1. Christopher Stapleton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bjarnleifur Hallbjörnsson in the 37th minute of the match. Rosario Vaillancourt got his second yellow card in the match during the 38th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Rosario Vaillancourt kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bjarnleifur Hallbjörnsson in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Christopher Stapleton saved Milltown from getting behind. After 41 played minutes Vernd Grindavík got a freekick which was hit by Mikjáll Geislason. 45 minutes into the match, Zachery Hutchison dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Össur Aðalmundsson, 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jon Dozier stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toby Couturier in the 55th minute of play forced Vernd Grindavík's goalkeeper Össur Aðalmundsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bjarnleifur Hallbjörnssons short, quick shot in the 60thth minute got Christopher Stapleton to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With a little luck, Milltown's Christopher Stapleton got control of the ball when Bjarnleifur Hallbjörnsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Grant Fountain kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Bjarnleifur Hallbjörnsson struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Christopher Stapleton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vernd Grindavík. Össur Aðalmundsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zachery Hutchison, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the last second Christopher Stapleton throw himself and got hold of the ball when Dalvin Ingjaldsson in the 75thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. A collision led to Vernd Grindavík getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Mikjáll Geislason hit a great ball. Milltown's Zachery Hutchison got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 83 minutes into the match, Dagbjartur Loðmundsson dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Christopher Stapleton, 2-2. 86 minutes into the game, Milltown's Zachery Hutchison nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Össur Aðalmundsson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Össur Aðalmundsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zachery Hutchison, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bjarnleifur Hallbjörnssons short, quick shot in the 96thth minute got Christopher Stapleton to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Milltown fans cheered their team off the field, for while Vernd Grindavík had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
